Aries: 7-13 May 2018

On 11th March 2011, the planet of freedom, independence, radical change and revolution - Uranus - moved into Aries, your own zodiac sign. Now, you are at the end of an era, where your image is concerned. Social media has dominated all that time. The world turned onto it when Twitter, YouTube and Facebook proved themselves during the 2011 Arab Spring, Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Now it’s a way of life, perhaps still for you - but those days are vanishing fast. In fact, next week begins the greatest upheaval for social me-me-media we’ve ever seen. It may affect you from one through six degrees of separation, but you will feel it this week. The rapid growth in Instagram and Linked In and the launch of iPad 2 now looks like ancient history. This is a really good time to sit back, look back and think about how you use social media, computers and phones - and how they use you - to promote yourself. To profile yourself. To showcase yourself. The winds of change are starting to blow from Tuesday when the powerful asteroid Diana enters Aries, your own sign, and from May 15th you will experience shockwaves and aftershocks through 2019, affecting (in particular) your name and face online. It’s not just you. This will be a global phenomenon! Yet, because you have your Sun in Aries in the First House of image, in your personal birth chart, this is in fact something only you can decide for yourself. Taurus: 7-13 May 2018

The biggest shift since 2011 has been below the surface, out of sight, hard to understand or see clearly and rather a mystery. You have been experimenting for quite a long time, but those experiments are now drawing to a close. This week is a real turning point. As you approach the weekend it could be useful to join the dots. Try to see that for all the chopping and changing, you have learned so much. You would not have been able to learn it any other way. Now that Uranus is moving out of your Twelfth House and Chiron is moving through, you are on course for much greater stability with all that is hidden about you, or your world. At the same time that life below the surface is set to become more predictable, you are now in a position to pull off something that will leave jaws on the floor. Perhaps including your own.

Gemini: 7-13 May 2018

This is a very important time in your life for friendships, for the community, for the group and for your social life. Perhaps for social media too, if that’s your cup of tea. You’re going back to the past in order to create the future. What past? Well, life before all the chopping and changing began, and even the rejections in both directions! This seems to have been going on forever and it’s quite true - since 2011 you have been in a cycle when nothing and nobody was stable or smooth. Now, your horoscope is slowly rotating in the direction of greater certainty, predictability and ‘calendar’ regularity. With Mercury, your ruler, retrograde shadow for so many weeks, you have been through a rather frustrating time when one particular aspect of the group, or your friendship, did not come together as it should. Still, Mercury is now moving normally, and the Chiron/Uranus changeover is in motion. The long revolution is drawing to a close. In its place you will be asked to see what you can get away with! Never say never and certainly don’t say ‘impossible’ or ‘unacceptable’ or ‘out of the question’ on this cycle.

Cancer: 7-13 May 2018

Old ideas about freedom and independence, in terms of your career, university degree or unpaid work return from Tuesday. It’s the same old thing since 2011 - that constant preoccupation - but soon, you will be on a new path with it all. In fact, the news, paperwork or discussions close to Thursday 10th May suggest a remedy. Your ruler the Moon has a bigger impact on you than the other 11 signs so when she moves through your success, ambition and achievement zone from Friday across the weekend, you will find yourself looking at what you need, and what you feel - not necessarily what logic says is right. If you are job-seeking, then the weekend newspaper advertisements may well hold an answer for you. This is also the time to trawl the web looking for awards, grants and the rest, Cancer. I realise that you have been backwards and forwards with rescheduling or delays for weeks, and nothing has gone to plan, but now you can nail things down. There is a second reason for this. You are in the last gasp of the most unpredictable, surprising cycle of your life. You will write the end of this chapter by May 15th and this week is really one of the high points in the plot. You have learned so much in the last six or seven years and now you can put it to use.

Leo: 7-13 May 2018

You are now changing gears with the worldwide web, education, publishing, travel, foreign people and places, academia and/or your beliefs. Perhaps your path from 2011 has been a mixture of all these. Leo, we are seeing a massive switch in your horoscope. The revolution is drawing to a close. In its place, this week, you will be seeing tiny glimpses of what is to come, up ahead. The discussion, news or paperwork this weekend, through to next Monday, is your final invitation to take stock of the last few years and figure out what freedom and independence really mean to you these days. You are now in a clear zone. Mercury is out of shadow from May 3rd so there are no more delays, reversals or obstacles. You are about two weeks away from a completely new chapter in your career when you must bring all the skills you used with the web, in particular, over the last six or seven years - and transfer them to your profession, unpaid work or course. This means flexibility. An open mind. The willingness to recognise that everybody, including yourself, deserves to be independent.

Virgo: 7-13 May 2018

The late, great Patric Walker used to refer to ‘matters of a joint financial nature’ when talking about the Eighth House of your horoscope. This is a smooth way of covering everything from childcare payments, to Royal Warrant wedding presents, to an agent’s commission. You will have your own story going on, but you are also in a position to rewrite the plot this week. We have a lot of Aries weather in your horoscope and Aries is the sign that rules your Eighth House, which is where we might find the marriage and mortgage, but also the big sums, or important possessions and property that is in your insurance documents, or even in your will. Ever since 2011 you have been involved in a life-changing overhaul of your previous way of making money, spending it, saving it, or repaying it. Much of this has been based on the fact that you rejected (and still go on rejecting) any organisation, set-up or person you feel is plain wrong! In other words, it’s out of date, out of touch, and has no part to play in your present or your future. Not surprisingly, Virgo, over the last six or seven years your big rejection note has resulted in a certain amount of rejection coming back the other way. Yet, out of all this churning, has come genuine freedom. Sure, you don’t have guarantees or certainties, but you are free to do what you want, when you want. Libra: 7-13 May 2018

Your former, current or potential partner is at the heart of the changes this week. In other cases, we are talking about your enemy, rival or opponent. I often describe this to you as the other person, on the other end of the scales. We might also call him/her the human being on the see-saw with you. I am sure you would much rather have had a predictable set of scales since 2011. Nobody really likes a crazy see-saw. Has this been the other person and his/her personality? Perhaps it’s just been the structure of the partnership itself. A battle or feud can also be a ‘partnership’ of sorts as it takes two to sit on the see-saw and fight! This idea of ‘two’ and the duet or duel, is central to your choices this week. Diana moves into your opposite sign on Tuesday and she is a symbol of freedom and independence. She begged her father Jupiter to give her a child-free and marriage-free life. On Thursday, we have the beginning of a really important discussion, e-mail exchange or paper trail, which continues past Sunday into early next week. Everything does need to be communicated very clearly and by next Monday you may even get the impression that you are now ready to return to your past. The old way of doing things - but with a terrific new approach. You have had a ton of experiments going on over the last few years and as a result have become quite a brilliant innovator and inventor in the field of partnership, or even conflict. Now, bring all that you have learned to what is essentially a return to life pre-2011, so that you can still make your own independence, autonomy and unique approach first on the list.

Scorpio: 7-13 May 2018

I’m sure that more traditional and conservative types will be mildly outraged by what you are proposing to do, in terms of your work, unpaid work or university degree. Chiron in your Sixth House can be like that. Just as the sight of a centaur provoked the ancients, so does your new interpretation of work, duty and service seem likely to raise eyebrows, once word gets out. You are absolutely within your rights to take everything you have achieved, your way - independently, alone, uniquely - since 2011 and use it. A great deal of what you created for yourself, professionally, through unpaid efforts or academically was the result of being both tempted and rejected. That’s a truly odd combination, but the cycle you have been in for the last six or seven years has been about irresistible help, connections, offers and ideas - along with really surprising knock-backs, rejections, distancing and sidelining. One thing I think you will enjoy very much from May 15th, and again from 2019 onwards, is the new acceptance. That might still seem far off now, but it is coming. More to the point, you could get away with what others assume to be impossible or plain unacceptable. This week is a major part of that, with the key conversation, news or paperwork there soon.

Sagittarius: 7-13 May 2018

Diana is an important asteroid in the modern astrology family tree, as she is the daughter of Jupiter and represents freedom, space, independence and autonomy. She is famous for having begged to be free of children and also marriage and she was granted her wish. She is sometimes called Artemis and you’ll see her in art galleries and parks all over the world, with her greyhound and bow and arrow. I mention her in detail to you, because Diana is now in your zone of lovers, babies, children and young people. There is obviously a key piece of news, a discussion, a letter or similar in the works, and it may turn up on Thursday or Sunday. Sometimes the issue with this cycle is paid or unpaid efforts involving much younger faces. It is commonly about your own son or daughter, godchild, stepchild, niece, nephew or grandchild. Naturally, lovers are the gateway to pregnancy or blended families, so sometimes the story begins with them, but it automatically raises questions about parenting. It is no exaggeration to say that you are at the end of an era. The era in question began back in 2011. Perhaps your child is now an adult. Maybe there is some other age-related leap forward across 2018, 2019 showing itself. However, this cycle is manifesting for you, remember Diana is at large. That means you are going to have to talk in terms of space. Space - the Final Frontier. Yet, there are so many more frontiers out there to explore. Nobody, including you, should be fenced in.

Capricorn: 7-13 May 2018

I am sure that your journey with your home town, homeland, house, apartment, family and household began in 2011, if you think back that far. It was no doubt a strange combination of knowing that something so radically new and different was utterly right for you - along with a growing certainty that particular places, faces or set-ups were no longer for you. Actually, Capricorn, you have found your own path and made your own way throughout the last six or seven years. Some of this has been instinct. It felt right! Some of it has been a growing impatience with a particular way of pursuing home, family, belonging, flat mates, security, lifestyle - that just does not suit you. To be honest, there is no going back. I am sure you would have an easier life if you just went along with what everyone else is up to, but that’s not your way anymore. What I think will make the most impression on you, following this week’s crucial news, letter, e-mail or phone call, is the prospect of a smoother ride. It’s been frightfully bumpy for years and you’ve just had to live in the moment, or deal with things day-to-day, so often! Now, the prospect of acceptance and ease is looking real. Ask every single question you need to ask.

Aquarius: 7-13 May 2018

I remember when the internet first became popular, back in the days when I had an Apple Macintosh computer that took up half the desk. My boyfriend at the time thought it would never catch on. However, you felt about the internet back in 2010 is now also a distant memory, but love it or loathe it, the worldwide web has been the core of all that has happened in the last six or seven years. During this time your ruling planet Uranus (the revolution) has been in the energetic and impatient sign of Aries, which rules your Third House of communication, publishing, multimedia, language, HTML, images, podcasts, videos, smart phones, websites, blogs, social media and the rest. Now, you are at an historic turning point as the very last key conversation, news or paperwork for 2018 is coming this week. You will sign off on something, or sign up for something, and maybe both at the same time. In fact, having learned so much in the last six or seven years, despite all the knockbacks, you are on a roll. Not only will the constant unpredictability vanish (in stages) from May 15th, you will also find you are tempted to pull off something jaw-dropping. Maybe it is about finding the right medium for you, the medium being the message. Perhaps you’re considering a specific project, piece of technology, or skill. You will be evolving right alongside the web, as we know it, for many years into the future. This week is a tiny part of that bigger story.

Pisces: 7-13 May 2018

Your old way of handling money, property, business, banks and the rest must now seem very old indeed. In fact, the revolution of 2011-2017 has become such a way of life, that you may not be entirely aware of just how radically you are dealing with everything, these days. This cycle is now closing. The discussion, news, letter or e-mail that is on your desk by next Monday is an important part of that closure. I am sure that you have heard the ‘No’ word a lot over the last six or seven years, but also found yourself saying a firm ‘No’ to arrangements, organisations or people which you could not accept. This has made your life interesting, to say the least, but it has also been such an unpredictable experience. The chopping and changing, believe it or not, will draw to a close from 15th May. It may return for a brief period, but for the most part, from 2019 onwards you will be far more certain, when it comes to your budget, company and the rest. The new challenge is to see what is actually possible. What you can achieve. Perhaps we’re talking about crypto currency here, or something more personal to you. I often say you have to put a price on independence, on this cycle, and you’ll hear your astrologer saying it again, this week. To be free to pursue what you want, when you want, as you wish - in your own space - does come with a price or cost. Adding that up and doing your sums is inevitable now but do look back at 2011-2017 and learn from it.
