Aries: 8-14 October 2018
I am listening to Clocks by Coldplay as I write your horoscope for the week, and the clock is set to a New Moon for you. It takes place in an area of your chart where you sometimes call time on a relationship, but also where you try to time it right when starting a new partnership - in love, or at work. Your personal clock is set to a new day, almost as if you were going from a minute past midnight, somewhere near Wednesday. If you are married, have a professional partnership, live with someone or are otherwise part of a duet, then it’s time to sing from the same sheet of music. Maybe you want to do a Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow and ‘consciously uncouple’ which is an interesting way of keeping the twoness, without having a marriage. I wouldn’t normally call this situation with your former, current or potential partner so dramatic, except for two things. You have the North Node in Leo, in your zone of parenthood, preparing to leave in November, so the karma is slowly fading and the circle is closing. That’s big. You also have Mercury (the paperwork or discussion) in Scorpio, the sign which rules your house, apartment, bank account, mortgage, shares, possessions and so on - jointly held. Thus, you have a lot to talk and think about, very likely with this person. Try to do it before 29th October when Mercury goes Retroshadow. If you are single you are very likely to be dealing with old detritus from a previous relationship where the money, possessions or home was a factor (maybe you need to return an album) - or considering a new lover. Could be. Could really be, but try to finalise it before the 29th as I don’t want you hanging around discussing things with this person in December when Jupiter’s vanished with all his helpful umbrellas and safety nets.

Taurus: 8-14 October 2018
You have until just before 29th October to do what you must, with the full blessing of Jupiter, regarding your opponent or enemy. This also applies to your former, current or potential partner. The two-way street may be sexual and romantic (a marriage) or purely professional (a work double-act). After that date, Jupiter is not long for this world in Scorpio, your opposite sign, and you also hit a particularly slippery Mercury Retroshade. You’ll no doubt hit a bump this week as Mercury opposes Uranus (you may be at odds with yourself or dealing with polar opposites in terms of the man (or woman) in question. Try to keep driving forward anyway as you are in the kind of cycle when even someone who is against you, benefits you - and if you have a happy partnership - there is still a last minute present to unwrap in October, together. What else is going on now? If you get the feeling that matters of image, brand, name, title and reputation will never be the same again, you’re right. What went down in May has made you alter course. In time it will come to seem almost normal, even though it’s all rather new at the moment. It’s also not easy. Give yourself time and space. The New Moon over your home this week also has a useful message. It’s time for a new beginning with your lifestyle, daily workload and particularly your body. It’s a good time to give up smoking, sugar or vaping. It’s a good time to start walking or working out. New Moons are ancient time-changers. David Bowie sang about being ‘far above the Moon’ in Space Oddity. You’re below it, but you can see enough of it to know it’s time for a very fresh start.

Gemini: 8-14 October 2018
The Taurus-Scorpio opposition this week is really a pointer to the next couple of weeks. Take every opportunity to improve your lifestyle, health and work situation before 29th October. It won’t necessarily be a walk in the park, but you’ll see the path and be shown the way. You do stand to benefit, even this late in the Jupiter cycle, from the biggest and best solutions in years. Even if you so far have failed to take them, your horoscope truly wants you to work better, live better and so on. Your ruler Mercury is retroshade from the 29th though so get a wriggle on. There are also questions here about your unconscious mind, Gemini. This is really about counselling, therapy, hypnosis and so on - and a surprisingly high number of people under your sign are turning in new directions there, particularly since Uranus changed signs in May. What else is going on? A new beginning with your godchildren, nieces and nephews, sons and daughters or with youth as a whole. This may be dating a man who has a child from a previous marriage, welcoming a birth or choosing a 2019 school for your son. For a few of you (depending on your charts) this turning point with children, pregnancy or younger people is part of a far more epic and astonishing change, from November. This could lead you into an engagement, shared home or similar epic move by 2019. This is more likely if you have personal factors in Libra at 15 degrees, or at 1, 2 Leo. You live in interesting times!

Cancer: 8-14 October 2018
Your ruler the Moon conjuncts the Sun in Libra, this week. That’s important because you are ruled by the Moon, and Libra also rules the Fourth house, which Cancer also governs. The Fourth House is your home town, homeland, apartment, house, relatives and/or flatmates and live-in partners. It’s the domestic scene, security, belonging, patriotism and a sense of place. You have a new beginning right on the New Moon, which you will see overnight if you look up among the stars. Monday-Wednesday is the time to use the timing in the sky to renovate, redecorate, reshuffle flatmates, plan family decisions, buy or sell a home and so on. It’s also the time to go and see the council or government if you want to stop a greedy developer. This week also sees a most interesting opposition in Scorpio and Taurus. This always means you are at odds with yourself, or find others can’t find agreement with you. It takes place in your Fifth House of godchildren, nieces, nephews, sons, daughters, pregnancy and young people. That may be the source of the mixed feelings, but make no mistake - Jupiter is on your side with all his protection, help, solutions and big chances. You don’t really have long to pursue what is parked in front of your face and even if it’s not a totally straight path this week, it’s the right one (until the 29th of October). The other side of the coin is Uranus in Taurus in your zone of groups, friendships, social media, your social life, trade unions and quasi-religious cults which pretend to be meditation circles. Uranus is about the revolution and Taurus rules ‘we the people’ in your life. The community or circle which has tremendous power when collectively harnessed. What is going on is so very, very new that you may not have really understood the full enormity of it. Maybe you have a glimpse of 2019, 2020 and beyond but it may still not have entirely sunk in. This week brings a sticking point. Take it on board and learn all you can from it.

Leo: 8-14 October 2018
The New Moon in Libra brings the relaunch of a website, blog, story, book, article, course, speech or similar. You may be involved with multimedia or pen and paper here, but as your ruler the Sun joins the Moon on Tuesday 9th October, it’s time to begin again. Of course, Leo, you may just want something entirely new in your life, so this could be the beginning of a column, a script or perhaps a fresh way of being heard and read, online. Far more important, though, is the moment of truth for your career, unpaid work or university degree near the Uranus-Mercury opposition on Wednesday 10th October. This is a nod to the long-term future, when you will repeatedly encounter upheaval that encourages you to consider why independence and freedom matter so much - not only to you - but to your employer, staff, colleagues, clients, classmates, professors and so on. Anything or anybody that has held you back may have to go, long-term. Keep an eye on what you want for your house, apartment, family, household, home town or homeland as well. Despite the bump you have near Wednesday, you are in a terrific position right up until the third week of October to use the opportunity or solution in front of you. Leave it any later, though - and you may find delays and changes affect what would otherwise be a smooth process. You really don’t want to embark on your paperwork or discussions in the final days of October when Mercury Retrograde Shadow is hanging around, for example. As I write this I can hear Depeche Mode singing about contracts in their classic song ‘Everything Counts’ which I’m sure you know! Take that as a hint from the universe. On Monday 29th October, Mercury (the planet of information, communication and negotiation) prepares to go backwards in your zone of renovations, leases, tenants, Air BnB and the rest - also council permissions, nationality and relatives. If you’re going to do this thing, take on board the sticking point this week, but try to move forward well before the 29th.

Virgo: 8-14 October 2018
Uranus arrived in Taurus in May and even if you’re not fully up to speed with this yet, it’s changing everything. Uranus is only one degree into the sign. That’s a baby step on a marathon over many years, but it will be a marathon change, where your travel agenda is concerned. You could easily emigrate, actually or start a life where you inhabit two different regions or countries. Other classic outcomes of this include sexual relationships or professional collaborations with people who are foreign or from your own country but ‘foreign’ in terms of culture, beliefs, language, history and heritage. The other very common outcome of Uranus in your Ninth House is a course of study which you teach, or are taught, that opens your mind to aspects of Europe, Asia and so on - that you have never really explored. I don’t think your entire world is going to change with just one tiny opposition from your ruler Mercury to Uranus this week, but you will see what is going on, with full clarity, and also start to see that language, no matter if it is HTML or a European dialect, is going to matter more long-term. Communication, full stop, is ruled by Mercury, your own planet and over the next few years, your big challenge will be to be heard, read and understood by others, in a rapidly changing world of knowledge, ideas, travel and travel in the mind. Two more things. If a project, course, concept or plan looks promising, or there is a solution there, try to it before the 29th of October to avoid the Retroshade. You also have a fresh start with money, possessions, charity, business or property this week, right on the New Moon midweek.

Libra: 8-14 October 2018
The New Moon in your sign is a relaunch of your name, face, brand, shape, style, image or reputation. It will not change your life so don’t get over-excited, but it’s useful and your timing will be right if you think Monday-Wednesday. Far more important over the long term is Uranus in Taurus, opposed by Mercury in your zone of finance, business, property, charity and possessions. Ever since Uranus changed signs in May you have been shown the way it’s (likely) going to be and may be surprising yourself already with heading in a direction you honestly never thought you’d take. Uranus is the planet which does not move as anybody expects. It was found in a year when the last thing anybody expected to happen, actually did (the Americans threw out the British). Thus, this very new cycle in your life is about your taxation, bank account, shares, savings, rent, mortgage, company and the rest, but not as you ever knew it before, or even anticipated it. The clash from Mercury to Uranus this week is a reminder that from this point on, it’s going to be about your value system (what you will and will not sell your soul for, who or what you consider to be so precious it’s priceless). This stuff is usually soul stuff. Thus, integrity, credibility, dignity, pride, independence and good old peace of mind. You don’t buy those in a catalogue. Over the next few years, Libra, on a monthly basis, you are going to hit similar conundrums. You have to be involved, financially, with your partner, relative, manager and the rest. Yet - you know what matters to you and you have your own budget!

Scorpio: 8-14 October 2018
Whatever you end up doing about/for/with your partner, it won’t be anything like the last few years. This also applies to your former partner, Scorpio - maybe a potential partner too. The partnership in question may be sexual, romantic or purely professional. Your usual modus operandi really does not apply. Why? Because you had to invent a solution or create an entirely original approach to the whole business of love, sex, marriage, divorce, affairs, adultery, separation and so on. This also applies to double-acts and duets of all kinds, be they Batman and Robin crime-fighting or Laverne and Shirley sharing an apartment. This week Mercury in Scorpio, your own sign, opposes Uranus, the revolution (also, Independence Day) in your zone of partnerships, former partnerships and potential partnerships too. The best response to Uranus is to see the way the wind’s blowing and surf. It can feel as if something has hit you, just as wind hits you sometimes in the water and takes your breath away. This is a really long way from The Beach Boys singing ‘Wouldn’t It Be Nice.’ Totally different soundtrack. Whatever your ideas about love and romance have been in the past - whatever your ideas about Splitsville - and even how a professional partnership should work - take a break. Taking a break, giving yourself time and space, allowing yourself to think laterally will give you the room to move that you desperately need, so that you can see the whole point of what has gone down since May and use it as raw material to do things radically differently in a way which genuinely liberates you.

Sagittarius: 8-14 October 2018
This week we have a New Moon in Libra in your Eleventh House of friends and groups. Expect a fresh start; perhaps a relaunch. The cricket team gets a new website or your political party acquires a different manifesto. You will have a chance to catch up with the changes in April 2019 to see how progress has been made for your community. This week is also important because of a long-term cycle involving Uranus, the planet of revolutionary chance and exciting new freedom (but also, it has to be said, disruption) in your zone of lifestyle, workload and the body. Ever since May, you have been dealing with the most unstable or uncertain situation, but it does have a point and purpose. This week will show you, if you are prepared to make some substantial changes. Doing so would turn things on their head - you were simply never on this course before! Yet, if you have not already invented a new way to proceed with your daily routine, the details of your lifestyle, your physical strength and all aspects of your health, from mental to dentistry - it will surely knock on the door midweek. Sometimes you are squeezed with a purpose, and that purpose is to wake you up to something so new, and so different that it only ever seems like the first step in an experiment. This is true to some extent, but by 2020, if you stick with it, you will look back on 2018 and realise this was the catalyst. If you go with this you may well find you set yourself apart in your chosen field, profession, business or industry and also blaze something of a new trail. Radical? Yes. But you have to be.

Capricorn: 8-14 October 2018
The most characteristic feature of the next few years for you will be the electrical storm (almost constant) of change concerning your son, daughter, godchild or young relative. By extension this also includes sexual relationships with people who you could make you a parent, aunt or uncle by marriage. The younger generation as a whole also falls under the rulership of the Fifth House, so this is about Generation Z, perhaps, or Millennials for some Capricorn people. This week gives you a hint of what is to come, and what was previewed in May. All bets are off, basically, because Uranus the planet of all that is new, different, original, sometimes shocking, intensely liberating and offbeat is passing through. Unless you are of a great age you have never experienced this astrological weather in your life. Uranus is opposed by Mercury, pointing out just how wild and erratic the lightning bolts are, on Wednesday. The correct attitude is not a Capricorn attitude at all. Don’t hang on, hold on and set your jaw. Be ready to zip around sideways, backwards and forwards. You also have a very great opportunity or solution waiting through, and for a friend. This friend is part of a group. A football team, for example, or a board of directors. Even if it’s not straightforward in October, stay the course and keep your eyes on the prize, yet try to complete well before Mercury Retroshade on 29th October. What else is important now? That sliver of a New Moon you see overnight near Tuesday. It signals the birth of the new in your career, unpaid work or university degree. We associate this with the top of the mountain so it’s essentially about your status and success, and the Sun and Moon together like this always represents conception and the birth process.

Aquarius: 8-14 October 2018
Your ruler Uranus is opposed by Mercury this week, and the long game with your house, family, apartment, household, home town or homeland is set again. You are up for years of discovery, invention and innovation. The known world is now the unknown world and many people born under your sign have already moved or emigrated. This cycle reaches people at different stages, though, and it may not be until May 2019 that you realise how radical you are prepared to be. This may be the family tree with all its leaves, branches and roots - or the place you call home. This may be the actual look or feel of your house, apartment (or other residence) but there may also be questions here about your town or country. Ever since May, when Uranus changed signs, your only way forward is to be highly inventive - about family or household, too, which are also ruled by this cycle for you. What (or whom) came into your world then shook it up and you accepted that invitation. Another shake-up has come since then and there may be more besides, if you follow through the original pathway set months ago. Think of this as a moving walkway. Strangely there used to one in Sydney connecting the far reaches of parkland to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. It was all very odd - unique for the times - and there is something of your current cycle in that eccentric people-mover. Even if this week is hard work, keep looking at what you stand to gain, which is a level of freedom, independence and space you have not seen for years, either with your people or your place. There is a solid chance for success and status with you if you act before October 29th. Getting there may not be straightforward, but you only get this kind of solution or opportunity every 12 years. Finally, with the New Moon in Libra, your holiday, emigration, relocation or vacation plans are ready to be born, or even born again. That would be Bjorn Again if you are reading this in Sweden. For so very many Aquarians now there are real possibilities in the years ahead about decamping to another country. This New Moon could be the kickstarter.

Pisces: 8-14 October 2018
There is a tale to be told here about your company, shares, finances, house, apartment, possessions, charity or business. We are seeing the end of constant uncertainty, invention, powerful original force - and endless question marks -with your money. This winds down in stages, until March 2019 when Uranus leaves Aries and you can at last look forward to some kind of structure and order. This week is part of that process. The New Moon in Libra in your Eighth House of join undertakings and agreements suggests one such, signed or perhaps just agreed. There may also be a renewal for some Pisces people. You also have the Mercury-Uranus clash across Taurus and Scorpio, which are - again - the finance signs. For you it’s really about the money edge to particular projects, concepts and ideas. One thing you are being shown is the appeal of being a true original. Everybody on YouTube and Facebook likes to think of himself/herself as an original, but actually, you have to be in the cycle, to get it. You are in the cycle. It’s called transiting Uranus in the Third House and you’ve never had it before in your life, most likely.
